Day 5: Dolphin Cruise and Beaches Excursion
On a very gray and drizzly early morning, we met our driver Michael from Mate Tours for a daylong excursion we had booked to explore some of the sights outside of Sydney. A three hour van ride brought us to our first stop at Jervis Bay for a dolphin watch cruise.
Tumblr media
We were excited to be out in the water, even with the less than ideal weather. We did see a few dolphins doing their dolphin thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, we headed to Hyam’s Bay for an incredible Brazilian barbecue lunch. It continued to rain steadily for the next few hours but eventually cleared up. The gloom did not lessen the beauty of the surrounding white sand beaches we explored, though! We stuck our feet into the cold South Pacific and saw more dolphins swimming and playing in the turquoise waves.
Tumblr media
It was a short "bush walk" the next beach, Greensfield. More of the same beauty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We spent the final part of the afternoon enjoying a refreshment in the lovely town of Huskisson before the long drive back to Sydney.
Tumblr media
We got back to the hotel a little after 8pm and enjoyed a late night dim sum at nearby Jimmy Chews. Next up: New Year’s Eve!

ok i'll tell u about elsa lmao. elsa may hannarose was born on the 8th April 1994, making her 21 at the time the story took place. she is the only child of elliot and ella hannarose, american, always has her blonde hair in a bun and loves vintage clothing bc what else. i also describe her voice as sweet and melodic so fuck yeah disney princess voice. i cant exactly imagine those qualities in an american/new york accent. maybe she adopted a transatlatic accent?
at the start of my book, she is very much thrust into the spotlight. as the owner of the cruise line she is the public face of the business and the focal point of the continued disappearance of hannarose cruise ships. the first ship to disappear was the hannarose sea, and her parents were on it, which is what left her as the owner to the company. not exactly a fun time to be forced into this position. but hey shes passionate and it is her family business and whatever floats your boat. she gets interviewed a lot by media outlets, because these ships disappearing are a huge deal. The hannarose utopia, which leaves sydney in may 2015 (yea i know,,, winter) is the main setting of her story, as she has decided she will quite literally sacrifice herself to figure out what the hell is happening to hannarose.
anyways our lovely trio zoe, eve and legend (yes, legend) knock on elsa's door one day and are like, we will help. elsa, unbeknownst to most people because she is a fucking good actor, has spent half her days moping in the hannarose suite, only leaving to elicit hope in which she presents herself as this confident woman who y'know, can show the culprit hannarose wont surrender. she also is a bit of a celebrity on the ship. we stan.
anyways with the help of everyones favourite trio of thirteen year old girls, they solve what is happening to the ships. it turns out rivial cruise line dark seas was jealous and used mysterious ocean vodoo to spawn an accident. i actually forgot about the ocean vodoo but its a huge plot point and the activation chant specifically targets elsa. also would like to point out that elsa solves the mystery and immediately becomes public figure elsa hannarose again. she gets out of the lift and starts greeting people
i also had this final theory that she, after the events of the book, keeps in contact with zoe and legend but suffers immense trauma from being elsa hannarose so she becomes very protective over the ships as a whole. lmao. i should do a mots deep dive. that would be funny bc it includes
a homosexual coded deck scene between zoe and legend
a random passanger rescue that only speaks french and is never bought up again
a food fight between elsa, eve, legend and zoe
a geography song
weird ocean voodoo from atala dark
a rebellion protest sparked from a pen
"update from the hannarose utopia"
zoe having massive main character energy and dreaming up half the clues, which ended up being a side effect of atala's powers
a weird secret organisation called langton
taylor swift references (i was 14)
". And no, I do not stalk Atala. It just so happens I know this stuff, okay. She has a biography on Wikipedia." (SPECIAL INTEREST ZOE BROWN)
the fact that the author of the book eve liked was just casually on the ship???
and many more
Hey Writeblr,
I have a very specific request.
Will you tell me about your old OCs? I'm talking like middle school/high school edgy OCs. The ones who make you cringe when you remember them, because they're so awful. The Mary-Sue's, the self-inserts. The ones you would never ever ever resurrect because oh my gods they're irredeemable. The over-powered ones. The dark-haired boys with crooked smiles and ocean orbs. The girls who are so not like those other girls.
I'd like to hear about them please! I desire to know them!

In this manner, you can roam around as you like and stop whenever necessary. To overcome this tiny roadblock that threatens to dampen your New Year's zeal, you must apply for an international driving permit. At ITCA, you may submit an online application for a driver's license and obtain your international driving permit. With this IDP, you can visit these nations anytime during the new year of 2025. Happy and safe new year to you all!

My friend & I eat terrible fast-food tacos every Christmas. It’s one of our most special traditions.
One of my best friends also happens to be the friend I’ve known the longest. I met the guy in kindergarten. For more than forty-five years, Tom and I have been meeting on the evening of Christmas Day, after our families go to bed, to go for a walk. As boys, we talked about what we had just received for Christmas. Now we talk about everything else, although we always make an ironic point to briefly discuss our Christmas gifts. Related: What sleeping on a beach with fairy penguins taught me about embracing my true self Watching those penguins made me realize I was stronger than I thought. Tom is the funniest, gentlest, most interesting guy I know. Never Miss a Beat Subscribe to our daily newsletter to stay ahead of the latest LGBTQ+ political news and insights. Promotions (occasional) * Week in Good News (one on the Weekend) * Week in Review (one on the Weekend) * Daily Brief (one each weekday) * Sign Up Me and Tom, a few years back. Provided. Every year, we stay out for hours, walking roughly the same route, but we usually grab a bite to eat, too. In high school, I once gave a class presentation, “The Healthiest — and Least Healthy — Fast Food Items,” and the deep-fried tacos from Jack in the Box came in dead last. After that, Tom and I began stopping by the local Jack in the Box on Christmas Day Eve to get some of their infamous tacos. It helps that Jack in the Box is always the only restaurant open. Keep in mind, eating these tacos is also mostly ironic. They’re terrible for you, but I think they taste terrible too. But in a way, I also love their taste. To me, Jack in the Box tacos are a thing of great beauty and joy, at least on Christmas Day Eve. They represent a deep and abiding friendship. At the end of 2017, my husband, Michael, and I left America to travel the world as “digital nomads.” We’ve made it home for Christmas a few times since then, but at least half the time, we’ve been in other countries, far from family and friends. This year, for example, we’re on a Christmas cruise from Sydney, Australia, to New Zealand. Which means — to my great dismay — I will miss Tom’s and my annual Christmas Day Eve walk. Fortunately, back in the U.S., Tom will take part in the walk on his own, and he will live-stream it for me. But he won’t get a Jack in the Box taco by himself, because — let’s face it — some things are sacred. When Michael and I left America to become nomads, one of my biggest concerns was that we’d be lonely. How in the world would we meet people? After all, we’re both introverts. We quickly discovered it’s much easier to make friends outside of America. I liken expats and long-term travelers to students during their first few months at university: Everyone has been uprooted from their old social networks, so they’re very receptive to making new connections. But for Michael and me, even locals have been easy to befriend, at least once you get outside the tourist hubs. When we left America, I also worried that I’d lose touch with my existing friends back home. Ironically, nomading — and growing older — has actually strengthened many of these friendships, like the one I have with Tom. I don’t ever take these relationships for granted now. Provided An AI rendition of me and Tom on Christmas Day Eve, circa 1989. This may be why, like those terrible Jack in the Box tacos, being away from home for another Christmas leaves a vaguely bad taste in my mouth. My father died earlier this year. He was ninety-four years old, and he had expressed many times in the past few years how he had led a good life and was ready to die. The truth is, I most vividly remember him forty years ago, when he was in his mid-fifties. It was after my brother and I had grown up and left for college, but before my mother got sick and died from early-onset Alzheimer’s. Back then, my parents were both still fit and active — and so vibrant. They quickly… http://dlvr.it/T0ZzGG

I got a chance to hang out with a set of cool
I got a chance to hang out with a set of cool, serene people. We all visited Chamarel Coloured Earth Geopark in Mauritius. Amazed? Well...Continue! It is a natural phenomenon which is very unique to the land of Mauritius. Some reaction between basaltic lava to clay minerals resulted in this phenomenon which turned out to be one of the main tourist attractions in Mauritius. It is a small area of sand with seven different colours. But the visitors are not allowed to play with this coloured Earth. But you can definitely play with some giant tortoises who are roaming around the adjacent playground. There is a lot more to tell about the Mauritius trip. Maybe I can write something later about the whole Mauritius thing without fail (I promise! I’m not lying).
I was thinking about how privileged I am to travel around the globe, to have money to spend on, to taste distinct signature cuisine of many continents and countries, to have some amazing set of new travel buddies, and all. It is okay if you haven’t outpoured the energy of a travel enthusiast in you. Because, I am damn sure of the fact that if you are a travel enthusiast, you will not be in that state of hibernation for so long. You can definitely explore the world china baby wipes wholesale that you are longing to. If you are not that into a solo trip, and have no hesitation to have a travel partner, try adding someone who is not privileged as you are for the next time. I promise the trip will be a memorable one. Share love my folks.
Yaas! Sydney, the capital of the state of New South Wales was my first and the most favourite trip (now you know… Sydney is more like a first-born!). I was flown to Sydney with my school besties when I was 20 (I was a travel enthusiast from a very young age). It was for a New Year's Day party (2006, I guess. Huh… Did I just reveal my age?! Damn! I was not planning to). Well, we had spent almost a week in the Sydney domain. Believe me, the New Year’s Eve fireworks cruise in Sydney Harbour was the best I had so far.
